John Gray, of Rowat & Gray Interior Designs, is a creative and artistic soul. His down to earth and quirky personality sensualizes his style. John is a leader in creative modern interior design, always moving forward in innovative ways.

Question: Knowing your passion for drawing and artistic expression, what made you decide on Interior Design as a trade?
John: I don’t know really. I guess many people don’t really feel they can make a real living off of something like cartooning or drawing so I guess that’s why I never really pursued it. I’ve always worked in project management and Interior Design really spoke to me in creative ways. I guess it’s my own form of creative self-expression.
Question: Do you continue to draw?
John: I try in my spare time. Haven’t felt really inspired lately, but like everything else you want done in life, I guess I’ve just got to pick up a pencil and start doing it.
Question: What is one highlight of working in your field?
John: Uh… A sense of accomplishment. You got all these bits and bobs you have to do to transform a place from what it is to what the client wants it to be. Then you run around like a mad man trying to get it done. At the end of it all, with a perfect designed space and the client satisfied, it’s a really good feeling.
Question: What is one downfall of working in your field?
John: I don’t know really… I mean every business has it’s ups and downs, but I can’t really say there’s anything bad about my job. I really love it.
Question: How’s working with Mr. Lee Rowat?
John: He’s a twat!
Question: *Laughing* Really?
John: Nah… I tell you what, Lee is truly a really good guy. He is. I enjoy working with him and having him as a partner. He gets the job done and when it comes down to it, he means business. I think we work well together… I mean, it’s been 4 years.
Question: Why should people choose Rowat & Gray Interior Design?
John: Well… we’re just a couple of normal blokes really. You get a lot of snobby posh people in our line of business which to me is ridiculous. I mean… we’re providing a service. It doesn’t matter who you are or what you look like, yeah. You need our service, we’ll provide it. Like I said, we’re just a couple of normal blokes.
Question: Ok. Last but not least, what’s your ideal for relaxing from a hard days work?
John: Hanging with me girls, Princess & Bumble and reading my comics.
